“The Doctors Are In” is a collaborative scrapbooking series with Tracy Banks (AKA Mercy Tiara) and Irit Landgraf. We are two scrappers (who happen to also be doctors in our day jobs), from different continents, with different approaches, and we will give you two different takes on solutions to what ails your creative body and soul!
*note: no actual medical or psychological advice will be given- this is strictly scrappy!
In this video I show my process for making a mini kit, with which I will scrapbook my next two layouts.
My mini kit recipe:
– 5 pieces of 12X12 patterned paper (one multi-colour “inspiration piece,” and then all the others will be chosen based on the colours in that paper)
– 10 or more scraps of paper that are of various patterns and colours based upon the “inspiration piece” above
– 5 pieces of 6X6 papers that includes at least a few that would make good mats
*when choosing patterned papers, choose a variety of patterns that include some from each of the following categories: 1/geometrics (patterns with strong lines and angles); 2/Organics (patterns with curvy lines, including florals); 3/Neutral/Classics (polka dots, stripes, chevrons, wood grains, etc.). Try to choose a variety of different scales within each category.
-A variety of embellishments of different textures, and dimension, and that keep with the theme and colour scheme that you plan to scrap.
-I don;t usually include letter stickers in my kits because I like the freedom to choose any letters from my stash, but if I were choosing letters I’d choose a neutral and a coloured Thicker, and a few options of tiled letters.
