I’ve been hesitant to start a blog because I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep up with it or not.  I post regularly on scrapbook.com and am involved in a few different groups there, so we’ll see how this goes.

So a bit about myself… I’ve been scrapbooking for a few years now but only seriously for the past 10 months or so.  I don’t have many friends who scrapbook but my sister recently took it up and I just realised that the woman I’ve been walking with for several months is into cardmaking!

Because so few of my real life friends share my passion for scrapping, I’ve been mostly connecting with other scrappers via Scrapbook.com, which is in my opinion, the best network for connecting with other scrapbookers.  Early in my days there I joined a swap called the Not-So-Secret Sisters Swap, and my swap sisters are awesome ladies who have shown me a lot thought their galleries, forum posts, and from the products they’ve sent me.  Through them I’ve had a chance to try some products that aren’t available to me locally, as well as some things I never would have chosen for myself (like yellow Thickers) but have ended up loving.  I’ve done a few challenges (I even won one!!! woohoo!), entered a few contests, placed a few orders from the Superstore there, and learned a tonne of techniques.  Anything you want to know, those ladies can help you out, and do so in such a friendly way, that it has come to feel like home.  I most recently joined an ATC swap group, so I’m looking forward to trying to make some Artists Trading Cards in the coming weeks.

Now that my sister scraps, I have really enjoyed her joining me for many a Friday night crop. She is an amazing artist, and it blows me away how quickly she picked it up and creates such beautiful layouts.  My latest craze has been mini albums.  I’ve only made 3, but I am hooked.  I joined a mini album kit club for 4 months, received all the kits, but haven’t even started them yet!  Add that to the list of projects I have to do!  On top of making 30 ATCs, I also plan to make some of my Christmas presents this year, and perhaps some or all of my cards.  I have 2 layouts in progress right now and when they are done I’ll have to put scrapbooking on hold for awhile and focus on ATCs and Christmas projects.

I guess I will post to this blog when I add to my SB.com gallery, but I think I’ll save this blog for my favourite projects.  I’ll have to add one of those nifty little slide show thingys.

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
