I’m getting excited about the August Studio Calico kit (Summer of 69) which is due to arrive on the 8th, so I have to get cracking on using up the rest of my Elmwood Park kit.  Here’s a layout that I had planned on layering a lot, but it ended up going in another direction:

This is my 4th layout using the Elmwood Park kit and Monkey Bars add-on (Studio Calico)

I am trying to use my Cameo a bit more, so I cut that Chevron Balloon (a Studio Calico cut that goes with the Elmwood park kit) out of red, re-cut the letters for “fun” out of blue, then layered it onto a piece of paper bag.  It’s so much fun to cut your own embellishments to the size you want, and I love that you can customize your cuts using the Silhouette software.

Most of the elements on this layout come from the kit

The grey trim was given to me by Sherry (thanks!!) and I just love all the texture and dimension it adds here.  the buttons are October Afternoon, from the kit, and the hexagon shaped sunbursts are leftovers from a previous SC kit.  I added some Prima word stickers to them for a bit more interest.

Check out my process video for more info on how I put this together.  Feel free to comment if you have any questions.

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
