So yesterday was the first day of school for my girls (grades Primary and 2) and it went off without a hitch. Scott caught this great moment of the bus arriving and the kids all lined up, waiting to start their days and the school year. It was a rainy day and the bus was late, so we were all relieved to see that big yellow bus come around the corner!
This is one of the few times that I scrapbooked a layout immediately after the picture was taken. The pic was taken around 8:30. We went to the school to see the kids into the school (a strange school tradition of putting your kids on the bus, then racing in your car to the school and watching them get off the bus and go into the school), and then we went home. I printed and scrapped this as soon as I got home!
Lots of goodies from the Summer of 69 kit, and the Pop Off the Page class kit |
I painted some oversized bubble wrap with yellow paint, then stamped it on the JilliBean Soup background paper to ground the layout.

I used lots of Sillhouette cuts and printables from the Studio Calico Summer of 69 kit. This page is my first layout for Jenn Jockisch’s Pop Off the Page class over at Studio Calico. Lesson 1 was about layering with paper. Although I often use lots of layers, I wanted to challenge myself to use different supplies in my layers and to combine layers in new ways. All the Cameo cuts were outside my comfort zone.
