I thought I would post some pics of my recently updated scraproom as a way to try out using pictures that are stored in my mobileme account. Hopefully I can get this to work, as it is a much easier way to use photos than uploading to a separate account.
Here is a shot of my entire room:
On Sunday Scott and I made 3 trips to Michael’s to buy 6 jetmax cubes using 40%off coupons. I now have 13 jetmax cubes on my back wall (in addition to the 4 other cubes in other places in my room).
My scraproom is made up of a u-shaped workspace (2 folding tables and a former kitchen island) and a back wall that consists of shelves (Jetmax) and a closet (covered by the green curtain).
So starting at the island, which I consider the left side of the U-shaped workspace, here are some more pics:
This island is where I do all my cutting and trimming. The jetmax cube holds my nestabilities and the blue binder holds all my cuttlebug dies and embossing folders. I try to keep this table clear so I can quickly cut, emboss, or score things. I keep my Martha Stewart scoring board below, and there are markers in the wicker basket. I don;t have many rubber stamps- they are all in the wicker basket there.
I love that the top drawers are fabric and actually pull right out so I can bring the whole drawer down to where I’m working.
Here is a pic of my stamps with the notebook that I use to catalogue them:
I keep my Slice cutting mat out so it’s ready to use (I keep a piece of waxed paper over it). I keep my favourite markers (Staedtler and a few Copics) in the blue bucket and coloured pencils in the steel bucket. A bottle of gamsol is beside the buckets. I keep all my embossing stuff over here in the white box that is the frame of a cd storage unit from Ikea.
Here is the right side of my u-shaped workspace:
This is where the new Jetmax went. I used to have a brown bookcase here. I LOVE how much storage I get out of these things! The bookcase I had here before went almost to the ceiling and didn’t hold nearly as much. I keep most of my flat-ish embellies on my clip-it-up. The bottom 9 drawers with coloured labels is where I store my scraps:
This system really works for me as none of the drawers is very full which means I can rummage through it quickly. I use way more of my scraps since I’ve had this system.
I also found a new way to keep my flowers:
I don’t use many flowers but lately I’ve been using more and keeping them all in a basket wasn’t working for me- I was only using the top ones!
The dressform used to be just decoration but I decided to use it for my small scraps of ribbon that are too small to put back on my ribbon rings. I love having the scraps on display so I’ll remember to use them.
Thanks for looking!
