I wanted to scrap this Instagram, printed at 3.8 X 3.8.  I really love the mood of the photo, which I snapped as we caught our first glimpse of the Empire State Building.  I used the Roller Rink kit and Rainbow Knee Socks add on from Studio Calico, which included a sheet of that grey speech bubble paper from the new Amy Tangerine line (although the grey one is exclusive to the kit).  I used that speech bubble paper as a starting off point, and because grey goes along with the concrete of the city, and picks up on city theme, I made my background grey as well and used lots of neutrals in my layers.

The only coloured paper I used was this red paper by Crate Paper.  I wanted to add some interest to the top layer and create some embellishments for the rest of the page, so I used my Fashionable Hearts embosslit (from Stampin’ Up!/Sizzix) to punch some holes in the paper and used the hearts in other places.  The Instagram badge came in the kit, but the wood veneer arrow (inked red) and sequin was from my stash.

I put the lyrics of “A New York State of Mind” on some of the speech bubbles and decorated the other ones with minimal embellishments.

I used my favourite Thickers, Amy Tangerine Goodness for a tone-on-tone grey title.

The puffy stickers from the Amy Tangerine line (again, the grey colour is exclusive to the kit) were the perfect accent for this layout.  I added some washi, Fashionable hearts, and sequins, along with the enamel dots that were included in the kit.

Here is the process video for this one:

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
