I had the girls over for our yearly Scrapaganza on Saturday and we scrapped 12 hours straight!

We had so much fun!! After lunch we all competed in what we called the Iron Scrapper Challenge, which was a challenge to beat Jenn’s prediction for how many layouts we could each complete before supper. We thought about having a “secret ingredient” a la Iron Chef, but none of us were too keen on including an octopus, or something similar on each page. I’m not really sure who won the Iron Scrapper challenge, but we all produced way more pages than predicted, so I guess we’re all winners!
I thought these papers were perfect for these older pics of my daughters at the butterfly gardens in Moncton. I used the butterflies from the chipboard and die cut cardstock sheets as well as a splattering of Mister Hueys and some enamel dots from my stash. Letters are from Studio Calico and October Afternoon.
For this one, I started by doodling around the border on this background paper, then took some Opaque White Mister Huey’s and misted over a piece of die cut paper from my stash (it’s an older Studio Calico paper). I cut the Amy Tangerine camera (available in the Silhouette Store) using my Cameo, from the woodgrain paper in the collection, then added the punched heart from the red paper in the collection. Lots of layers of paper from the collection, plus a doily die-cut from craft paper…. and of course, more Thickers!
This one was a bit of challenge. I wanted to get a masculine-ish layout from this collection, just to see if I could. I got away with using flowers because the subject is my daughter, but these flowers are not all that girly, and I think this layout would look fine if a boy were the subject. I really like the contrast between the denim Thickers and the lacey doily, and I’m lovin the combination of Mister Huey’s splatters, chipboard and cardstock flowers, and those wood veneer stars.
I LOVE these pics of Sophie hamming it up for the camera in Scott’s studio. I have to stifle my giggles every time I look at them (Miss Sophie is sensitive to giggles!). I wish the stars at the top were more asymmetrical rather than such a triangular shape, but other than that, I love how this one turned out. That woodgrain has a slight violet undertone, so it looks great paired with pinks. The pink and black chevron washi tape adds some energy to it. She had put her own make up on for this shoot, which is why the skin around her eyes is so brown.
