Although we didn’t spend time in Harlem, this photo, which my step-dad Ray took, is one of my favourites from our trip. There is something about this row of buildings that appeals to me. I put it through an Instagram filter and printed it out in 4X4 size.
I just slapped the title directly on the layout, and resisted the urge to ground it with washi tape or anything else. I wanted this one to be as clean and simple as I could get.
I’ve been wanting to cut apart the chevrons on one of the many chevron/hardwood floor papers that are so hot these days, and since I didn’t get a chance to do it with the paper that came in the Roller Rink kit, I made sure to do it with this paper (nice of Studio Calico to give me a second chance with this technique, by including a similar paper the next month, lol!)
I’ve done this in a few layouts before, but I have to say the woodgrain paper is my favourite for this technique.
