Here’s what I came up with for this week’s sketch over at Nuts About Sketches:
(this layout is from a recent sleepover my daughters had with a friend)

Oooh, how fun it was to get back to layering!  I used papers and embellishments from my Elmwood Park kit and Monkey Bars add on (from Studio Calico), and I also pulled in some items from my stash.

The primary cluster includes (2) 2X3 photos matted on lots of layers of paper from the Elmwood Park kit (Echo Park, My Mind’s Eye, Basic Grey).  There is also a shipping tag (from Staples), glassine envelope (from packaging), and a piece of a paper bag (of course!) punched with a scalloped scallop border punch.  A few embellishments from the kit (the Today flair badge, the striped cream and green banner, the Remember tab), and a few embellishments from my stash (a hambly screen print, a word sticker, and wood veneers).  I misted with Mister Hueys in Water Cooler, and splattered with MH in Opaque White.

The secondary cluster includes some of the same papers, a more decorative tag (also from Staples), more punched paper bag, and another wood veneer.

I created the title from letter stickers in my stash: Amy Tangerine Journal Thickers in white, and October Afternoon Mini Market stickers in cream on teal.  I also added sewing details to various parts of the layout.

Check out my process:

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
