HIgh Flying
High Flying, Adored 12X12 Layout

The layering on this one is a little strange but I do like the patchwork look of it.  All the supplies for this one were from an old Scarlet Lime kit.  Papers are K. and Co., GCD Studio, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket, My Mind’s Eye, and a piece of Swiss Dot from Bazzil.  It’s a crazy combination, but I think it works!  I left 2 spots empty for the eye to rest and outlined with a broad-tipped marker and zig zag stitching to bring it all together.

The floral dimensional stickers are from the Handmade line and the phrase stickers are from the Serendipity line, from K. and Co.

I love the effect of the machine stitching on this layout!

That yummy pleated ribbon trim is from Pink Paislee, and I love the dimension and texture it brings without the hassle of pleating it yourself (my pleats never turn out quite right).  The Thickers are Salutations (brown fabric) and Vera (yellow vinyl), while the tiny letters are Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type.  This was a fun layout to make- it’s been awhile since I covered this much space on a layout!  I was going to entitle it “Flying High” but I got the song “High Flying, Adored” from Evita stuck in my head while scrapping, so decided to go with that instead. This is a departure from my usual style, but it was fun to work with such big busy patterns. I kept the embellishments to a minimal because the patterned paper is so busy.

And here is the process vid:

And here is my second layout from today (using that same old SL kit):

Barbie Girls
Barbie Girls 12X12 layout

I started with a piece of white American Crafts cardstock, then added a border of 20 punched circles from the turquoise October Afternoon paper.  Then I layered the piece of green GCD paper over the circles to form a scalloped edge.  Then I cut 2 circles from October Afternoon polka dotted papers.  The yellow paper is Adorn It.  Embellishments: Jillibean Soup Journalling Sprouts, K. & Co. Phrase stickers and floral dimensional stickers, Sassafras brads, chipboard arrow from my stash and inked with broken chine Distress ink.

Thickers are Roller Rink (pink) and Lax (blue).

And here’s the worlds most simple layout (done last weekend when I had scrappers block):

Story Time
Story Time 12X12 layout

Papers are October Afternoon’s Farmhouse collection (except background is My Mind’s Eye).  Letters for “story” are also October Afternoon (Farmhouse).  Daiqiri Thickers also used and a clip from Basic Grey.  Machine stitching and paint splats.

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
