This weekend we visited my sister in Moncton, and had a really great time catching up with her and her husband. We went to Crystal Palace and we also went scrappy shopping at a small lss near her home. I bought parts of the Bo Bunny Ad Lib collection (amoung other things!), and couldn’t wait to use it! I decided to try using this week’s sketch from Sketchy Thursdays:
I used photos from our trip to Scott’s parents’ house for Fathers Day last weekend (wow, it feels like much longer ago!), and here’s what I came up with:
Brave Girl 12X12 (Sketchy Thursdays) |
It is quite a bit different than the original sketch, but I really like how it turned out. I rarely use blues, so it was a nice change for me. I started by painting some white paint from my Adirondack paint dabber around the edge of the background paper and swiping a smear of it across the middle. Then I added some blue accents with the Pool Adirondack paint dabber.
I punched the striped paper with my new Double embossed dotted border punch and I curled up the scallops to add some dimesnion. I used the broad side of my brown Zig marker to line the edges of the striped and spotted papers. I cut out some of the words from one of the patterned papers and lined them as well (with the fine end of the pen). I layered a bunch of rub ons below the paper strips at the top, and added one rub on by the bottom strips.
The border below the main photo is cut from the rub-ons packaging (it had a cute little border edge on it, so I cut it off and lined it with a fine tipped marker). The title is Thickers and red letter stickers from the Ad Lib combo sticker sheet. I finished it off by pop-dotting the circle stickers from the collection around the photos. This one was a lot of fun and came together super fast! I added a bit of journalling about how proud I am of Sophie for facing her fears (which she does almost daily!).
