I have no projects to post today because all I’ve been doing for the past few weeks is Glitzy Chix stuff (hop on over to if you’re curious), but I have been spending a lot of time looking at my own 2 blogs as well as other people’s lately (trying to improve on my blogs), and I’ve come to really appreciate all the beautiful work out there in the blogosphere. When I look at how my own work has evolved over the past few years, I really don’t think I would be getting as much personal satisfaction out of my projects if it were not for learning and picking up little fun ideas every here and there, and looking closely at the details posted on the blogs of talented paper crafters all over the world. I am always so amazed at how generous people are to take the time to make and post tutorials, and explain how they made their projects. People sometimes ask me if I’ve taken scrapbooking classes, and I have always replied no- that I am self-taught, but really, I, like so many of us, am community-taught. I wouldn’t know a thing about anything if it weren’t for scrapbook.com forums, YouTube and YouStream videos, and all the pretty and inspiring blogs out there. Wow, thanks goodness for Internet. I remember looking up psychology articles in American Universities using a text-based Internet browser in 1992 (navigating with the arrows on my keyboard!) and thinking, this is so cool, I can read an article that’s on a computer in California! Little did I know how central the Internet would be to all our lives just 10-20 years later!

There. Now that I’ve made you feel all warm and fuzzy about technology, go hug a computer!

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
