This was one of my favourite layouts from the Never Tear Us apart kit, so before I break into the Colorblind kit, I thought I’d blog this one.  Not every layout I create gets blogged here, just the ones I have something extra to say about, or the ones I like the most (so make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel if you want to see all my layouts).  This one, called Off to School We Go, actually shares a name with a layout I did a few years ago!  I guess my memory really IS failing me!

Off to School we go!

I like the small letters for the title for a change, and I just enjoyed pulling these layers together.  I think it looks relaxed and simple, and that’s how I was feeling about the photo, so I’m pleased with how it turned out.

Those Mini Market letter stickers are among my all time favourites

I love how the texture from the twine and corrugated cardboard contrasts with the shine from the flair and enamel dots.

oops, a stray pop dot backing photobombed my layout!

I love me some yellow chevrons!

a super simple top left cluster balances out the main cluster.

And here is the process vid for this one:

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
