Here’s another 34th Street layout (Studio Calico 34th Street kit with Penn Station and Herald Square add ons):

Untitled

Although I was planning to do a super-layered layout for this picture, when I sat down, the supplies just did this instead 🙂

Untitled

I try to add some interest when I do a blocking style layout, so I made the red paper strip fall a little short of the width of the other blocks and added in some enamel dots.  I really like how this looks.

Untitled
I also really love how the “Merry Christmas” banner sticker (from Echo Park) fits so perfectly on the black woodgrain block.

Untitled
I put some torn washi tape on the top and bottom of the blocks just to soften the harsh edges a bit.  Carrying a few elements (stitching, washi, the tip of a tag) outside the borders also helps make it look more interesting and casual (in my opinion).  This one came together really quickly (a bit more than an hour, which is fast for me), and I really like how it turned out.

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
