The only thing worse than losing your scrappy mojo is losing your scrappy mojo and then getting it back only to have every thing you do turn out wrong.  I started a project that was not new to me, but for some reason I made mistakes at every single step.  Even the simple parts proved to be far too aggravating for me, so after 3 complete days of work (over a 1 week period) and about 8 different mistakes, I put the whole thing in a drawer (wanted to throw it in the garbage, but there were too many supplies tied up in it) and am forgetting about it for awhile.  In the meantime I did this card for my BIL’s birthday:

Got Cake (A2 for Jeff)

This is the first time I’ve combined the circle Nestability die with the Labels 4 Nestie die.  I LOVE the look, and will definately be trying this combo again.  I used distress ink to colour the ebmossed edge of the circle.  I used coloured pencils to colour the stamped image but I couldn’t find my Gamsol to blend it, so it’s just roughly shaded for shadows the best I could do without the gamsol.  Papers are from the Granola collection by Basic Grey (picked up at a yard sale for $2!!!).  Stamp image and sentiment is inkadinkadoo.  Inks: Frayed burlap distress ink and Pacific Point (Stampin up).

Oh, and by the way, this will be the last 1/2 and 1/2 card I post for awhile.  I’ve challenged myself to make different cards, rather than falling back on that design most of the time.  I’ve already made a few different ones but I haven’t photographed them yet.  So keep an eye out for (da da-da da…) Something Different coming from me soon.
So I realise that my last post (or second last) I promised that Bloody Minialbum that I started in the fall (no, it’s not a Halloween album, it just makes me bloody mad that it took me so long to finish it), and yes, it IS done (although no pics in it yet), but I actually did another mini album today.
Yesterday I watched this video over on Tim Holtz’s blog, and was inspired to make one of these W-books (which I used to make when I was a kid) out of a piece of TH paper and some of his tissue tape.  So last night I assembled the book while watching Blue Bloods with Scott and then embellished it today.  I’m so psyched to have completed in a mini album in less than 24 hours, including photos and journalling.  It almost cancels out the frustration about the unfinished mistake-laden project sitting in my drawer.  Almost.  *scowl*
So here are some pics of my completed project (I lifted the cover from Tim’s, although mine looks completely different because I had different supplies):
Tim Holtz-inspired mini book

And here are a few of the pages inside:
Whenever I get a chance to take some more pics, I’ll be posting that other (long overdue) mini album, as well as some of those new non-half and half cards.

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
