So you may have noticed this blog has been going through some struggles lately.  I get behind, then I post a bunch of photo-only entries, then I fall behind again.  I want my blog to be relevant, but I think I need to stop trying to make my blog do it all.

I have always considered this blog to be more of a support to my YouTube channel than a stand-alone crafting blog.  Back before I narrated my videos, I used this blog to post still shots of my layouts, and details on products I used in my layouts.  I also used it to post projects that I didn’t create videos for.  Nowadays I do videos for almost every project I create (either a process video or a share), and I narrate all my process videos so there usually isn’t more to say about my layouts in a blog post.  My YouTube subscribers do want to be able to see still photos of my layouts, but I’ve decided this blog will not be the most effective way to give that to them in a timely manner.  Instead, I will direct my YouTube viewers (and you, my Blog readers) to my Flickr account, where all my layouts are available to browse (organised into layout sets and months).  I have placed a link to my Flickr account in the sidebar, and removed a lot of the extra stuff from the sidebar to make it easier to navigate.

I will still keep this blog, but I will use it only for things I want to say (wow, what a concept!), rather than as a receptacle for all my crafty work.  Things like my tutorial for printing photos using iPhoto,  will still show up here, as well as any other ideas that are not conducive to video, and any news and information I’d like to share.  I may still share the occasional layout here, especially if it’s something I’m really excited about.

I think a lot of you who follow my blog also subscribe to me on YouTube, but for those of you who do not, now is a great time to head on over (click on my face in the right side bar, or there is another link further down on the sidebar) and subscribe to my channel.  You can set up a YouTube account (if you have a Google account you already have a YT account) and mark your settings to receive email notifications when subscribed channels are updated.  I’ve tried to renovate my blog to make it easier for viewers to navigate to my YT channel, which is what I think of as my online crafty “home.”

I hope the changes will make my blog more interesting and relevant to you, my readers, and more manageable and fun for me maintain.  A win-win situation 🙂

So if you don’t hear from me here on my blog for awhile, come on over to YouTube to see what I’ve been up to, or take a look at my Flickr account to see what I’ve been creating.  Otherwise, I’ll see you on the next blogpost here!

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
