Make my day
Go Ahead, Make my Day!

Guess what I’ve been up to!  I got up early this morning to work on the Cardmap sketch for the February challenge over at Scrapbook Supplies Online.  Here’s the sketch:

February-2012-Card-Sketch
Feb. Card Sketch

I loved this sketch the moment I saw it and I knew I didn’t want to change it very much.  My 5 year old came downstairs and helped me with the punching… then she went upstairs and my 6 year old came down and did the die-cutting for me.  Gotta love child labour eh?  Here’s what I… I mean we… came up with:

Valentine1
Union Square Valentine (A2)

This was so much fun to make!  The main heart is made of 4 craft card stock hearts and one text paper heart, all glued together down the centre.  I used dimensional adhesive to pop a few of the layers apart.  Then I punched and die cut a bunch of hearts from various papers, and stapled, glued, or pop-dotted them on.  All papers except the card base are My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found Union Square collection.  Pleated ribbon, card base (Crumb Cake), Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, stamp, and tag punch are Stampin’ Up!  Heart punches are Marvy and EK Success.

And here’s another take on the sketch with fewer hearts and rotated 90 degrees:

Valentine2
Market Street Valentine

This card is almost identical, with the same layered heart made of 5 punched hearts.  I used ruler twill because it’s going to Livie’s teacher. This time I used the Lost and Found Market Street collection (MME).

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
