On Sunday I was a scrapping machine! I made 3 layouts in one afternoon, which is unheard of for me… I am usually such a slow scrapper! I decided to try a few sketches, which is something I haven’t tried in a long time, but I really had a lot of fun, and definitely see more sketches in my future! The first one is not from a sketch. I had this record paper that I was dying to use, and when we went to the Chickenburger for Mothers’ Day, I knew I’d get my chance with pics from the event.

Record Layout (12 X 12)

I didn’t want to cover much of the paper, so I kept it pretty simple.  I used paper from the Mod Retro stack by Die Cuts with a View.  I cut out the little phrase embellies from one of the papers in the stack and used border punches to make strips of other papers from the stack.  I added a few chipboard circles and a fabric “happy” sticker from my stash (Dollar Store stuff), and a few journalling strips.  The layout is simple, but I fussed with the placement of all the elements forever!

My second layout was made using the Get Picky May Challenge #8, which you can find here.  I love that the sketch used negative space and I had 3 pics left to scrap of the mothers day outing, so I gave it a go and here’s what I came up with:

Good Times (from Get Sketchy May Challenge #8)

I started with a piece of textured cardstock from the American Crafts Neutrals pack.  I misted it with SWAK, Tattered Leather, and Jingle Bells Glimmer Mist.  I cut the strips (from the Mod-Retro stack by DCWV) in various widths and outlined them in different widths of markers.  Layered it all together and threw on a bunch of Basic Grey Bloomers (from a few different collections).  Then I sewed on some Stampin Up! buttons using black embroidery floss.

I have one more to post, but I have to go for now!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
