Ah, to be young an in love again… well, we’re still in love, but not so young anymore!  Looking at this pic, which I came across as I project-lifed my old film photos, reminds me of the good old days when all we had to worry about was which restaurant we’d be ordering from.  I knew I wanted to scrap this photo, which is probably the first picture of us together, so I got to work on it right away.

I used the Studio Calico Front Row kit, with the Popcorn and Matinee add ons.  I love the stamps in this month’s kit, and the “our story starts here” stamp was perfect for this layout.  I stamped it in one of my inks- Hero Arts Midtones in Bubble Gum.  I also used the ledger-type stamp right below it, in black.

I love the Journal Thickers font, and this one in a sparkly black (it came in the kit) seemed like  good choice to add some contrast to the layout.  I like to use lots of black accents on layouts for pictures that have lots of dark space on them, like this one does.

The “love” wood veneer arrow is so cute!  I am loving the new Lawn Fawn veneers!

When I saw the “boy meets girl” paper from Jenni Bowlin in the kit, I figured that was the paper I’d never use, but here I am using it (albeit a small piece) in my first layout!  I made a pink banner for it to sit on and a punched heart anchors it to the photo.

The process:

Mercy Tiara

Mercy Tiara

You may be wondering who is Mercy Tiara, and why the name? MercyTiara is an anagram of my first and middle names, Tracy Marie. I discovered this name in the 90's in grad school when we were all coming up with alter egos for one another in a lab one day. I've used it ever since, but you can call me Tracy or MercyTiara, or anything you want... just don't call me late for supper!
