Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates it out there! This week I posted my scrappy giveaway challenge over on my YouTube channel:
This contest is open to all my YT subbies (there are almost 800 of you now! Wowsers!!!), so if you want to play along and be in the running for the prize, all you have to do is make sure you’ve subscribed to my channel, then create a layout or project about scrapbooking (or whatever crafty endeavours you love) and then leave me a comment on the giveaway video that includes the link to your project. You have until May 3rd to link up your project. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE LINKS TO YOUR ENTIRES HERE… leave the links in a comment or video reply on my YT video. You can click the little “watch on YouTube” button in the bottom right corner to get to the place where you leave a comment (that button is the little YouTube logo, right next to the clock icon on the video above). If you have any problems entering, leave me a comment here or on YT, but I do need all the entries in one place to make my life much easier on May 3rd when I do the draw.
If you haven’t been to my YT channel yet, now is a great time to check it out and subscribe. (There are some projects over there that don’t make it to my blog).
I started off my Easter weekend by taking my own challenge, and scrapbooked a layout about my scrap room. My amazingly talented husband created this “Multiplicity” photo of me in the Lady Cave, so I had to scrap it! I used the Sunday Sketch (April 1st) from Studio Calico as my jumping off point for this one:
I used a few papers from the Studio Calico March kit (Story Hour), lots of Amy Tangerine goodies, and a few other items from my stash. Hidden amongst the paint splats are a few little hearts, which I created using ink colours that were similar to the Mister Hueys that I used to create the splats.
I’ve loved that paper dolls shape from Amy Tan for ages now, and finally got to pick up a bunch of her stuff in a post-cricut sale haul from Twopeas and Emma’s Paperie. Oh yes, did I mention here that I sold my Cricut, Gypsy, and all my cartridges last month? It was a big decision, as I did love my Cricut, but I bought a Silhouette Cameo with the proceeds, and had money left over for an Amy Tangerine haul. I LOVE the Cameo and have used it tonnes!
After I did my journalling, I replaced some of the words with those Tim Holtz word stickers (Chit Chat). They seem to be exactly the right size for my writing!
